The hangover symptoms differ for each individual and can vary from occasion to occasion.

The symptoms are dependant on the type of drinks you have ingested, the amount of alkohol you drink, genetic factors, your weight, size and age.

The presence of fusel oils and congeners in the drinks exaggerate many of the hangover symptoms.

Women generally process alcohol at a slower rate than men. This is due to their higher percentage of body fat, generally smaller size, and less of the enzyme alcohol dehydrogenase.

This means that women are also more likely to suffer hangover symptoms as it takes less alcohol to get intoxicated.

Typically, a hangover begins within several hours after the cessation of drinking, when a person's blood alcohol concentration (BAC) is falling.

Hangover symptoms usually last up to 24 hours and some times even several days.
